The Shawshank redemption.
The Shawshank redemption is, my opinion one of the greatest movies of all time. The plot, the actors, the overall combination of the two creates a mix which is explosive and dramatic. The very fact that there is no mention of a prison break for almost the entire movie, makes the ending fascinating and very dramatic.
After the beginning, we all thought that Andy Dufresne who was played brilliantly by Tim Robbins, was guilty. The amazing way he was proved not guilty was from his protege, who was shot and killed by the wardens gunmen. Andy once again proved that he was not only innocent, but probably the nicest guy in the prison. Than we have Red, who was played brilliantly by Morgan Freeman, who’s friendship with Andy “knew no bounds”.
Andy’s hobbies, his everlasting optimism, his calm, cool, and collection self, and let’s not forget his genius, gave the impression of a person that’s going to live and succeed no matter what. Let’s also not forget, when you get close to him,(to harm him)he won’t be his regular calm self.
So with rape and murder, extortion, and just the overall prison life, what was Andy thinking? Was he thinking on getting out on good time? Or waiting out the remainder of his sentance? We don’t know till the end, but we do know that he wasn’t doing nothing about it. He was enlisted by the warden, to be his personal accountant. This included embezzlement, fraud, etc. Thus we have Andy, in for a murder, doing tax returns for all the prison guards!!
So Andy is protected for the most part, doing good deeds for the prisoners, which includes creating a library with hundreds or thousands of books. A couple years pass, everything is regular until one day. Andy’s gone.
Where is Andy? The entire prison guards, police, everyone was searching for Andy. Andy escaped by hammering a tunnel, with a small 10 inch stone chisel, which was thought to take hundreds of years to do, andy did it in 10. He climbed through miles of sewage to get to his safety. All in all as was stated previously, this was the best combination of plot, actors, drama, and ending; my opinion.

Few actors in the world have had a career quite as diverse as Leonardo DiCaprio’s. DiCaprio has gone from relatively humble beginnings, as a supporting cast member of the sitcom “Growing Pains” and low budget horror movies, such as “Critters 3”, to a major teenage heart-throb in the 1990s, as the hunky lead actor in movies such as “Romeo + Juliet” and “Titanic”, to then become a leading man in Hollywood blockbusters, made by internationally renowned directors such as Martin Scorsese and Christopher Nolan. But such a rich, varied career is what you would expect from someone who has had such an unusual upbring as DiCaprio Actor in: Titanic, Inception, The Departed, Shutter Island, Catch me if you can, Body of lies, Blood Diamond, J. Edger, The beach, Romeo+Juliet, Gangs of new York, and much more
Undoubtedly one of the most influential film personalities in the history of film, Steven Spielberg is perhaps Hollywood’s best known director and one of the wealthiest filmmakers in the world. Spielberg has countless big-grossing, critically acclaimed credits to his name, as producer, director and writer. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1946. He went to California State University Long Beach, but dropped out to pursue his entertainment career. He gained notoriety as an uncredited assistant editor on the classic western “Wagon Train”. Among his early directing efforts were Battle Squad (1961), which combined World War II footage with footage of an airplane on the ground that he makes you believe is moving. He also directed “Escape to Nowhere”, which featured children as World War Two soldiers, including his sister Anne Spielberg, and “The Last Gun”, a western. All of these were short films. The next couple of years, Spielberg directed a couple of movies that would portend his future career in movies. In 1964, he directed “Firelight”, a movie about aliens invading a small town. In 1967, he directed “Slipstream”, which was unfinished. However, in 1968, he directed “Amblin'”, which featured the desert prominently, and not the first of his movies in which the desert would feature so prominently. Amblin’ also became the name of his production company, which turned out such classics as “E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial”. Spielberg had a unique and classic early directing project, “Duel”, with Dennis Weaver. In the early 1970s, Spielberg was working on TV, directing among others such series as Rod Serling’s “Rod Serling’s Night Gallery”, “Marcus Welby, M.D.” and “Murder by the Book”. All of his work in television and short films, as well as his directing projects, were just a hint of the wellspring of talent that would dazzle audiences all over the world. Zooey Deschanel was born in 1980 into a showbiz family. Her father, Caleb Deschanel is an Academy Award-nominated cinematographer (perhaps most notably for “The Passion of the Christ”) and her mother, Mary Jo Deschanel (née Weir) is an actress who starred in “Twin Peaks”. Driven from an early age to become a successful actress, Zooey got her big break aged 17 playing a model in TV sitcom “Veronica’s Closet”. She got her first film role the following year in “Mumford”, which prompted her to quit university to pursue acting full-time. Mostly thanks to a role in Cameron Crowe’s popular biopic, “Almost Famous”, Zooey’s rise to fame has been steadily increasing as the 21st century wears on. Her distinctive acting style found her critical acclaim in 2003 when she was voted Best Actress at the Mar Del Plata Film Festival for her role in David Gordon Green’s “All the Real Girls”. She also gained a Best Female Lead nomination (for “All the Real Girls”) at the following year’s Independent Spirit Awards, but lost out to Charlize Theron.
